Gosford City Football Club is the ideal place to introduce your kids to Soccer!
With introductory, non-competition age groups from Under 5′s to Under 11′s, your kids will learn basic football and social skills, in a fun team environment, fully supervised by our coaches.
Our Home Ground is Gavenlock Oval in Narara, otherwise known as the Dragon's Den.
The seaon's games run from April till August each year.
Training is held on Tuesday or Thursday afternoons at either Gavenlock Oval or Paddy Clifton Oval. When training is held is dependent on your Team's Coach's availability. Additional training may be available to your child on Wednesday evenings if they are selected for our Academy Squad or for any female player wanting to attend the Female Footballers Development Squad.
We are a Grass Roots sporting Club run by volunteers. All our teams have a Coach and a Manager, these roles are filled by parent/family volunteers from the team. No experience is necessary and the Club provides information and training on how to do these roles.

GRADING 8 – 11 YEARS
Under 8’s
There is no grading for this age group. Player's can choose to play with friends or current team mates if they wish. If you would like to be placed in a specific team, please contact the relevant Junior Football Manager upon your registration so your child can be allocated into that team. We will endeavour to keep teams together if you wish. Under 8s is a semi-graded competition and teams will be allocated their “grade” at a team level by our Junior Football Manager. Team assessment will be done as part of the Trial Games.
Under 9’s-11’s
Individual grading is voluntary, that is you can choose whether you wish to have your child placed into a team based on their relative skill level, or you can choose to play with friends or specific team.
We hold grading days for our under 9's to under 11's. All players are required to attend grading, at which players can be graded individually to be placed in a competitively graded team, or those players wishing to form their own team can have their team graded to ensure they're playing in the correct level of competition for their teams overall skill level.

GCFC SAP ACADEMY
The SAP Academy will comprise of some of Gosford City's most promising players from under 9s, 10s, 11s and 12s who will participate in specialised additional training, again focused on Football Federation of Australia’s 4 Core Skills (one vs one, striking the ball, running with the ball and first touch). These training sessions will run once a week for 20 weeks on Wednesday afternoons/evenings. Sessions are intended to improve skills and further develop our team’s success in the highest graded competition of Central Coast Football.
The FFA’s Curriculum aims to develop future generations of players and teams that will enable Australia to maintain a leading position in world football, particularly in Asia. Gosford City Football Club intend to do our part to help achieve these aims.
The Academy will form 4 Squads, one from each respective age group. Academy players will be placed in a local Gosford Football club team and the teams will play in the local winter Central Coast football competition.

Selection
16 players will be selected from each age group to form the SAP Academy Squad. Selections will be made at the conclusion of the Club Grading process and positions will be offered to players individually.
